Good luck, great hammock, but I make no claims about stomach sleeping, I never do that. ( But call or e-mail DGrav at JRB, he will be happy to give you all the details you need to know) It will have directions for how far apart the triangle apex should be, or a max figure. Can't remember exactly what it is, around 11 ft I think, but it will say in thee directions. It is not critical, but safer not to go any further. I find it most comfy at very close to the suggested max. My JRB short UQs fit perfectly, no gaps anywhere. Let us know how it goes.

    I just wrote him.

On the other hand, the Treem hammock seems very flat.

    Weight of the hammcok and spread bars is : 450 + 323g = 773g
and the Suspension ropes (containing 4 steel rings and 4 rope handles): 210 g

It's hard to choose. I won't buy the two ;-)

Hello! I just emailed a reply but figured I’d post here in case others have the same question.

The simple answer is, yes some folks do sleep on their stomachs in the JRB UL (and the Bear Mountain Bridge also).

Depending on the persons height, weight, where they carry their weight and how they hang their hammock their can be a slight back bow. From my experience this is true for all bridge hammock designs.

I don't know anything about the Treem other than what I see at the link you provided.
Since you mentioned weight, is weight important to you? If so, the JRB with suspension weighs about 647.5 gms compared to 983 for Treem. But the Treem is double layer, which would add to it's weight.

It can be hard to decide, that is for sure! Especially with new companies whose products you might like better, or they might be worse. Who knows until you try them? Also, customer service and quality is an unknown with all new companies.

Also, I notice the JRB is listed as about 3" wider than the wider of the 2 Treem models. Depending on depth, this might be an important factor for stomach sleeping.OTOH, the Treem appears very shallow, which might help with stomach sleeping. It is so shallow that without the additional suspension, it looks to me like it would be very easy to flip out of it.

That additional suspension looks great, especially when not much worried about weight. But couldn't that be rigged up/added to pretty easily with most any bridge hammock?

Good luck on your tough decision!

Any bug screen add on that would work with the UL?
