THIS! They also make a foam glue "tack" product that remains flexible that you can spray on to the entire face and lay the APEX on to glue it down. This can be done to both inside faces. I am sorry but for the life of me cannot think of the name of the product - but it is out there.

I did what Just Bill described.. fabric, fabric, APex, inside out leaving a small hole to turn it right side out.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Maybe this has been answered already, and if so, I am sorry to repeat. Your foot pressure is too high. There should be an adjustment where you can lower the foot pressure. Good luck.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Hutzelbein, my quilts are made with CS apex and it was a pain working with. I followed the vids by Eric from CW Hammocks on YouTube. Hope you were able to finish the project without further problems.

Like Jellyfish stated I believe your foot pressure is too high....take her word for it, she knows what she is talking about. Try lowering the pressure and see how that works.

I have not read this entire thread but these videos gave me the "starch" to make my first top quilt.
Goto RipStopByTheYard and see a short video on how to make a synthetic quilt that is doll size but teaches the techniques.

This video is for a down quilt but was helpful learning about pinning (it never would have occurred to me to sew without removing the pins).

    Good luck.
