Thanks for the replies. I'm on the heavier side at 280 so idk if I will do the 1.6 or 2.4. I already have the dutchware whoopie sling suspension on my cheaper hammock so I know i will be getting it.

The 2.4 isn't offered in wide, if that factors into your decision. 1.6 is rated to 350 lbs. There's also the option to double-layer.
Aside from breaking strength, stretch is another factor when choosing fabric. The 2.4 will have lower stretch and therefore feel firmer than the 1.6. It comes down to personal preference as some people like stretch more than others, just as some like softer beds than others.
Yeah I thought about the 1.6 not really needing the wide but I may look into it. The hammock my wife took is 70 inches wide and 11 foot long so as long as it is close to that width I will be fine. I'm only 5'10"

The standard is 58" wide and the wide is 68". I'm 6'1" and have wide and standard width Dutchware hammocks (only standard Chamelons though). I find 58" a little narrow and 68" too wide. Lots of floppy excess fabric. Given the choice, I prefer the 58". But I'd rather have 62"-64" which is what my Dream Hammock is built to (64").
Yeah I just went and looked at it. I'll go with the wide. I guess I'll try the 1.6. I may do the double layer for added insurance.
