    New Stuff Sack

A friend of my daughter's wanted to get into hammock camping, but rides horses instead of hiking. She didn't want stuff sacks to pack inside panniers. After making her a hammock, suspension, bug net, hammock tarp and under quilt, I put it together fully assembled and made a saddle bag roll to pack it in. Same concept as the Lazy Slug and SLD'S Catch All. I use a compression sack for my rig when backpacking.
The roll is 500d waterproof cordura and ties on behind her saddle just like the traditional cowboy saddle roll. Velcro closure in the main part of the bag holding the hammock rig with another exterior compartment for the tarp with suspension packed in a snake skin.

That’s the coolest thing I’ve ever heard.

This seems like a very interesting concept. Sounds like it will work well
With the help of your daughters friend you might have a unique market making camping gear for horseback riding. I know every park or Forest that I visit in the Midwest that has decent milage is usually shared with horses so I know it's popular enough. Seems like with weight not being a huge factor some interesting gear could be devised also. Might be a really good fit for the new material Dutch was showing that is self healing.
Anyway, nice work and happy trails

this is a supremely interesting concept, and it deserves more attention!! if i had horses, i'd be fully devoted. i just made a slug tube from a playpen carrier and it appears that it'd ride in a similar manner on a horse as it could on my pack!! Very very cool, great work!

    That's really cool!

Just out of curiosity, how big is the finished roll?
