I left my tree strap at the park yesterday so I made a few replacements with some improvements.

My original tree straps had large loops and I had problems with the soft shackle falling to the ground when attaching the suspension to the tree. To fix this, I made the loop only wide enough for the soft shackle so it can't fall out. I use the Tacblades' celtic knot carabiner with Grizz's blocking end lashing knot https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...Celtic-Shackle. I made the soft shackle without lashing, passed it through the loop, then added the lashing. This also prevents the soft shackle from pulling out of the loop end of the tree strap.

When I received my webbing it was coiled and held by an elastic. I thought this was a neat way of storing the tree straps so punched a hole between the strands of the webbing of the longer strap with a nail and pushed through some shock cord and tied a knot to make a storage loop. Now i don't have to worry about bringing an elastic or loosing it in the woods. When using this loop, you need to be careful to pull the loop over the right way so that the end of the tree strap doesn't fold over. Once the loop is in place, I close up the soft shackles around the tree straps making a neat little package.

I hope this comes in handy for someone else. Let me know what you guys think.
