Becket Hitch slipped on UHMWPE tree strap. Will Marlin Spike Hitch or J-Bend work better?

I got white UHMWPE tree straps (2.4g/foot) from Dutch. I use 8' tree strap with Bechet Hitch + 2.0 or 2.5 mm 16 strands Dyneema rope whoopie sling + double hammock whoopie hook + CL on the hammock end. First few hangs with new straps there were no problems. Yesterday my wife tried to hang the hammocks by herself. I'm not sure if she made any mistake but when I tried to get into a hammock BH slipped . Then I made new BH my myself. Worked well first 30 minutes and then while I was in a hammock it slipped again on the same tree strap (it melted fixed loop of the whoopie sling a little bit).

Will Marlin Spike Hitch or J-Bend work better? Which of them is less slippery? I don't really want to use any hardware here so I would prefer J-Bend if it's less slippery than BH. Any other advises?

I had a similar issue once. The first few times my new straps worked with the BH like a champ until the straps folded over on themselves and got "ropey".After landing on my butt a few times and then having difficulty untying the knot I remembered the titanium marlin spikes in my kit so I used them to great effect.Maybe its just me but I think the knots work better with the more old fashioned straps.

J-Bend works with anything, anywhere, all the time with zero slippage. Even Amsteel-on-Amsteel, which in my book is the acid test.

If you tie a slip knot about an inch from your becket hitch, that will put the brakes on slipping.
My old videos are painful for me to watch—both Carolina Red Hammock Suspension and Kokomo Hammock Suspension videos show use of a slip knot to stop slipping.
You don’t have to duplicate what I show in videos.
I recommend adding a slip knot to your becket hitch. Add slip knot to bunny rabbit ear about an inch from its exit from becket.
Bunny rabbit ear has two sides- one side moves when you pull tag end, the other side does not move. Add slip knot to side that does not move.

Likewise you can add a slip knot an inch from bury exit on UCR and whoopie sling.

Slip knot is unlikely to get pulled through knots and hitches you have used.

    Always hand tighten
Always add your body weight slowly on first sit down of hammock-to further tighten your knot

    Good luck

J-Bend and marlin spike hitch both are nonslip
    Both are similar construction

Indeed! I'm just going with the no-hardware option. I realize I'm a bit of a stick-in-mud about that lol.

However, the Lapp Hitch with kevlar straps doesn't slip and appeals to the minimalist bug that is relentlessly buzzing in my ear!

I’m still testing your Lapp hitch. Took my hammock down last night and put it back up using it on both ends instead of just the one.
