VIDEO: White Mountains Solo Backpacking (first video)

This is my first attempt at a trip report video. Lots of mumbling and wind noise, but some pretty scenery and the mumbling gets better as I become more comfortable with the camera

I had a rough plan to do part of the presidential's and then over to the wildcats (as Sintax77 would call the "presicat" loop). It was going great until my right leg started hurting pretty bad coming off Jefferson. Camped by Tuckerman's Ravine which was great. I decided to make an easier loop the second day through the Great Gulf Wilderness because of my leg, which turned out to be a great trail and a good time! Got a lot to work on for the next video, but it was fun getting used to the camera.

Looks like a fun time and it did seem pretty peaceful and empty. You're right, the weather this past weekend was fantastic. My idea of summer! Thanks for taking us along!

Nice I would say a great first attempt at a video trip report. Epic views and some good shots of them! I also enjoyed your background music and the way you cut into each different scene with the audio.
If I could add a suggestion I would say maybe shorten it up a bit. I think 15 to 20 min is a sweet spot for one full day of hiking and camping and 10 min for a day hike. I enjoy Sintax77 also but I often do the 10 sec skip through his longer vids.
But yeah, overall I really enjoyed it and great location. Nice gear also. Thanks for sharing and Happy Trails

Thanks for watching! I'll definitely be working on minimizing unnecessary footage as I learn what is fun to record/watch. Haha I also find myself skipping through long videos and often just to the camping scenes wishing I was out laying in the hammock

Great video and it looks like a great trip. Loved the views from Mt. Washington and it does not surprise me that you had knee problems with the rock infested trail.

Nice trip report. Awesome campsite near the pond. Your video conjured up some fond memories of hiking in the Whites. Thanks for posting.

Watching your video now. Good stuff. A friend of mine skied Tuckerman Ravine last Saturday (22nd).

Put this on my "watch tonight" list...what did you use for a camera?

Canon g7x Mark II for the camera. Debating whether to bring it to film my Northville Placid Trail thru-hike in a few weeks. I like having a real camera for shorter trips, but will probably try to get better with my phone for longer trips.
