ViDEO: Snowbank/Disappointment Loop BWCA Solo Stroll

Needed to get back to the woods so headed up to do the Snowbank Trail to Disappointment Loop in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.
A challenge of a walk. Tricky trail at times as it is not marked well and there are a lot of cairns to follow. No signage makes it a bit of and advanced trail as far as backpacking goes. One needs to get the map and compass out once in a while.
Serene, wild, loony, beavery, buggy, weathery and Awesome. Yes, I typed awesome.
And of course a scrumptious double cheeseburger fries and a blueberry shake from Gordy's High Hat in Cloquet on the way home.
    Gear:
    Warbonnet Eldorado hammock.
    Hammock Gear 30º TQ
    Wilderness Logics Summer Series UQ.
    Warbonnet Mini-Fly tarp.
    ULA OHM backpack.
    Black Diamond Flickloc hiking poles.
    WL hammock pillow.
    Ursack to hang food.
    Lots of various bug defense.

Great video as usual. These areas that are this rocky just can't hold the large trees when the wind comes a blowin. Beautiful area all to yourself. Thanks for taking us along. Tell Hickory we need a MapleKing T-Shirt

Very sweet. You’re Hitting the BWCA trails hard, love it. Aye the blow downs, was up there right after ice out. The humbling power of nature. Good stuff, looking forward to part 2. Give me a shout if the Sioux hustler pops up on your agenda this fall.

Nice to see a different part of the country. We do have loons here for part of the year, on salt water Hood Canal. Your McVitie's candy bar reminded me of a favorite limerick: A trader named Sandy McVitie With a cannibal king made a treaty With a rum and gin sling Mac toasted the king And then the king toasted McVitie.
