    quick question--Is this nanoseeum mesh?

    Hello all:

Does anyone know how many holes per square inch there are in noseeum netting vs. how many in nanoseeum netting?

I have looked around the interwebs but so far to no success )

I ask because there is a site here in Germany selling some unidentified netting for like 3 Euros per yard, and it is their ultralight option... supposedly has 1000 holes per square inch!!! Is it nanoseeum? The weight works out to I think .88 oz/square meter... and a square meter is slightly more than a square yard...

    Thanks!

The weight, price, and mesh all seem right on. The stuff is light weight and will keep the bugs out. Not sure if Nanoseeum (TM) comes in beige or blue though.

It's aproximatly .74 oz/yd˛ to be more exact
and i imagine the beige and blue could be referred to as white and black if you're not anal about describing the colour

No idea if that makes it Nanoseeum? You could just ask Martin whether he knows and/or where he gets it from if you really want to know!

Stay away from blue. It reflects a certain spectrum of uv rays that attracts bugs. Found that out last summer. Bug city on a blue stuff sack I had, weird.

I doubt this netting would be a bright sky blue or even as "bright" as this. Also i think i've seen pictures of it in a finished project and it looked just black but i'm not sure ..

Hmmm... yep i didn't compare a square yard vs. a square meter in my math. Safe to say that it's approximately the same weight as the nanoseeum available from Thru-hiker.

But is it the same holes / square inch? Seems to be a pretty fine mesh at any rate--and cheaper than I can get it when I get back to the US. If nobody happens to know the count I think I will ask Martin thanks

And does dark blue really attract more bugs? I've never heard that before!! I was thinking of going for that over the beige for reasons of visibility.
