Which fabric on a new Ridgerunner?

I haven't found the magic after trying a few different GE hammocks and I'm ready to try a bridge. I am going to start with a WBRR. I see there is a new textile. I was wondering if that changes any of the weight limit guidelines. I'm 6'2"/215lbs. I'll probably go double-layer just to be safe and so I can have fun experimenting with pads between the layers.

If you were getting a RR today, would you go with the original nylon or the new dreamtex?

Dreamtex, I just got a Eldorado in autumn orange. It has a softer feel to me.

I too would recommend the new material as it's been getting some good reviews. You will want to opt for double layer at your weight. Be sure to report back as I was in the same boat as you and can now finally get a great night's sleep in a hammock thanks to the Ridgerunner.

I purchased a WBBB XLC 2.0 last year in the new True Blue 70D nylon color (single layer) and just recieved a new WBRR (double layer) in Ocean Blue 40D Dream Tex Nylon. I am 5'6" and 130# so the double layer was not necessary to support my weight, I just wanted the possibility of putting a pad between layers.

Anyway, the 40D Dream Tex is a wonderful fabric. I have sewn for over 50 years and I am very tactile so the hand of the fabric is important to me. Go for the Dream Tex. The 70D nylon fabric is nice but the Dream Tex superior. I have hammocked for 15 years or so and this is my first bridge style. Backyard testing revealed this as a great hang. Can't wait to actually camp with it.

Go for the RR with the Dream Tex.

Nothing against the Lynx (I have the 4 season), but check out some other vendors as well. I got a Ridge Reaper in a couple weeks ago from Loco Libre and it is absolutely beautiful.

I'm glad I didn't have these choices when I purchase my Ridgerunners (yes multiple) and Lynx UQ as I'm terrible at making choices. I love my Ridgerunner. Hey we need a sticker

Hey, y'all. I'm considering a RR in the new Dream-Tex fabric. I know it's supposed to be softer and stretchier than the nylon, and Brandon said he made it specifically for GE hammocks. Is there any reason why this fabric might be a negative for a bridge hammock vs the less stretchy 30d nylon? I like the colors of the nylon, but if Dream-Tex is superior in comfort and lay, I'd easily opt for that.
