WBRR with Rectangle Tarp

I recently purchased a WBRR, and wanted to try out my existing tarp with it to see if I could get regular coverage and full coverage (storm mode). The tarp I have is a 10' x 8' Paria Silnylon Tarp. I used Dutch Stingerz for the tarp suspension and beetle buckles for the hammock suspension. For insulation I had a Klymit Static V air pad and my aegismax sleeping bag.

The first night we weren't expecting any rain in the forecast just some wind. So I left the tarp up for regular coverage just in case, and had no issues except for my sleeping pad has no insulation at all so I threw in my thermarest ccf pad for some extra insulation and that worked perfectly.

The next night we were expecting some intermittent storms so I decided to test out my storm mode modification which I took from "theclark5" https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...-Specific-Tarp. I did not have all the materials to make the same modifications that were used in the post, but what I did use were some line tensioners on the front guylines and added some rubber bumpers on the spreader bars from an old bicycle tire tube. This allows the tarp to move with the hammock slightly so there isn't a lot of strain on the tarp. I also lowered the tarp and hooked the suspension behind the beetle buckles on the strap so that the tarp would still move with the hammock. Needless to say, it worked beautifully and I stayed perfectly dry.

Yes my bumpers have binder clips on them because I glued them together at the bottom and wanted them to set right.

It's funny just when you think you have it dialed-in you find something else to upgrade. For example, just got a insulated sleeping pad so I can take this setup down into some colder weather and purchased some dutch hookworms for my tarp tie-outs.
