My existing tree straps are getting pretty worn and I need to replace them. When doing so I want to upgrade since I have to buy new ones anyway. This will be used mostly on overnight-weekend camp trips throughout spring-summer. Occasionally I go out for up to a week at a time but not often anymore now that I have a career job and family. These won't be left outdoors indefinitely. What I'm looking for is:
- 1" webbing straps to use with a marlin spike hitch/toggle and whoopie slings (already have the slings and toggle)
- sewn in loop on at least one end (both ends wouldn't be bad to have either so it could double as lashing lines in the canoe) - no hardware/carabiners/dutch clips/etc
- super light weight and strong material
- material that doesn't stretch/sag when wet and hopefully doesn't soak up a ton of water
- ideally not some obnoxious color - earth tones are preferred but it's not a deal breaker to be yellow/white/blue but I'm not getting fluorescent colors or glow in the dark, or anything really wacky
- 10-12' long
Where do I go, and what do I get to meet these needs the best? There are lots of materials and options out there these days. Literally all I'm looking for are the webbing straps.
