I hope it's ok to hijack this thread. My tree huggers have been outside for several years. How can I tell if they are still strong enough to hang from? Thanks in advance.

You can test straps with twice your weight
You can inspect straps before and after test
You can chance it and use them forever
And if not sure, you can replace straps

My 2.2 Kevlar straps are finally showing the slightest bit of wear. Hate to replace them so I think I am going to make a set of huggers out of them... Sad to see them go.

Good advice from Phantom Grappler.

If replacing, in that situation maybe consider using huggers made from car seat belt straps. Heavier and material is designed for long-term UV light exposure.
