Never again. I actually did it three years in a row. One year I even brought Michelle’s big cooler up,too.
Creek is cool. Last year I just left the cooler in the truck and made a daily trip down to get what I needed for the day. I will stick to that routine this year.

I guess I’ve spent as much time in that area as anyone. It’s one of the few places that I hike and camp that I can’t recall ever seeing a bear. I have seen one closer to John Rock. Not as many blueberries where we camp.

Glad you can make it Ken, hope you bring the coffee.

Hangers beware that no ridgeline is safe.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

Yes I also learned the best way is to make daily trips down the hill and resupply. I have a yeti hopper that I will be bringing up on my second trip.

    Agreed no bear canister required.
I typically hang my food but sometimes sleep with it. Many AT thru hikers sleep with their food.
