I expect to be fairly early (8-9ish). Anybody else for an early start?

Where is that "deluxe site" we're trying for? Thought I read a description of its location but can't find it now.

Bugs were pretty ferocious up on the Bruce Peninsula this weekend, just FYI.

It's the island south of the bridge between smoky and noganosh lakes.

I'm meeting 76 Highboy and Keewaykeno at 8am at Flemings. Hoolio and BigGreenMoose do you know when you're coming in?
I will hang a space blanket at the shore so you can see where we're camping from the water.

Oh I wish that I was coming. I have been booked for family get together that weekend in London. I was just sharing some info from our experience.
Have a great time. Nice short portages. Not a short paddle day but you pros will find it easy.
Say Hi to Chomper if you do get Deluxe.

Is anyone familiar with the logistics concerning parking at Flemings Landing? Is a fee required and how early do they generally "open". I'd like to arrive reasonably early, but no earlier than the proprietor.

To whom should I direct my inquiries on said matter?

    Chard, I have no direct knowledge but from what I've read I believe Fleming's Landing is free to park. See exerpt from 'My CCR' below, hope it helps;

"Took hwy 69 to hwy 522 and turned east toward Port Loring. Arrived at Flemmings landing at 10:30 am.

Flemmings Landing can be a little hard to find. You take the first road past S narrows {about 7kms}.Turn right on this road, take first lane left to the parking lot.

Canoed west down the Pickerel river to Smoky creek. Portaged right beside a cottage to Smokey creek. Canoed up the reed and weed filled creek.

Portaged left 75m around a beaver dam a short uphill climb. Proceeded for another km and took the portage left, a flat 400m into Smoky Lake.

Canoed through Smoky into Noganosh and set up camp on the first island on Noganosh."

My plan is to be at Fleming's Landing around noon on Friday too, Jimmay. I'll PM my phone number and maybe we can head out together.

I don't imagine it'll be too hard to find your space blanket, ggreaves if you guys are at/near one of the other marked sites from the maps.

If I/we can't find you guys, I'm thinking to paddle back to the deluxe site, and maybe someone can paddle over after dinner and provide directions.

Short portages, so I'll double carry and bring in my Eureka no bug zone and poles. No harm if bugs are merciful... a Godsend if they're merciless!

Is there any desire for a resupply of the 3 B's for those heading in early? BBQ, Booze or Basics?

Free parking but you might have to get creative. We kind of pulled into a bush to make a spot for us. Resupply before you take the hwy exit. There isn't much for shopping.
