Question Wooki Fabric Choices Nylon vs Polyester Downproofness

Hi, I saw WB has several fabrics available for wookis, anyone know of the differences in downproofness between them? I see there is polyester, nylon, and ripstop nylon, various deniers. I presume the higher denier the better downproof but more weight. I have no idea if 15D nylon is more or less downproof than 20D polyester though.

I’ve got a 0’F and want to get a 20’F 950FP to save pack volume.

I have tried to take good care of my Wooki, I always store it uncompressed in a big sack laying horizontally, and only hack it compressed in my backpack for short time (half day or so). I have had a few feathers come out. It’s my first so I’m not sure how normal that is or what to expect. I don’t want any to leak if it can be avoided.

My priority is pack volume, weight savings are an added bonus.

I know a Yeti will save more space but I still think I’d prefer the full length rather than supplementing a foot pad and also don’t want the suspension lines.

15 and 20 should be pretty much the same in regard to downproofness and durability

A few feathers here and there is common and to be expected

Reply I got from WarBonnet Brandon.

I’m asking about if 15D ripstop nylon packs smaller and weighs less than 20S polyester.

Of course 15D is lighter and less voluminous than 20D.

    How much? Negligible.

According to this chart: https://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/wp...uilt-Specs.pdf moving from 15D to 20D on a Wookie XL adds 1.26 oz to final weight.

As for extra volume, think negligible. Real negligible.

Thanks I wasn’t sure if different materials would be equal weights and dimensions/compression.
