WBBB heavy duty 70D nylon or 40D dream-Tex nylon

Looking at upgrading to the new WBBB Heavyweight Double XLC.

I already have the WBBB double layer heavyweight XLC, but it is the first generation design. Great hammock, but just looking to get the latest design.

My question is which is stronger material, 70D or 40D dream-Tex?

Looks like Brandon rates either configuration of the heavyweight double at 400lbs.

He confirms similar strength in post #28 of this thread. https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...=1#post1942937

Seems the main difference is the feel of the fabric.

The general consensus from those who have tried hammocks in the Dream-Tex material seems pretty positive. I don't own one, but I have a few hammocks in Hexon, which the Dream-Tex has been compared to, and I like the soft feel of that material. Not as shiny and slippery as my Ridgerunner which is the older 30D nylon.

I have both and I like both. They are quite different, though. The Dream-Tex has a nicer touch, but it is also noticeably more stretchy. The 70D is more "slippery" and feels more like a synthetic fibre, but it provides a firmer lay. I'm currently going back and forth between those two every couple of nights (I don't have a bed anymore) and couldn't say which one I like better.

It sounds like the dream-Tex is new ... WB introduced it late last year ... so wonder if further real world use might reveal potential future issues such as wear over time.

Why should it have issues? It's not cutting edge or anything - I have never heard of a 40D fabric having issues of wear over time. The fabric looks and feels very similar to Hexon. If anything it seems to be woven more densely, which should make it tougher.
