I have a Dutchware 11’ netless hammock and a Dutchware summer sock, and it seems to hold in some heat. It’s a pretty versatile set up.

Mine has protected my UQ from some pretty strong summer thunderstorms blowing rain sideways.

I have an UGQ 0 degree underquilt that I use yeararound. Never get a cold backside. I don’t mind carrying the extra weight. Idon’t See any downside ... am I missing something.

Also, if you have the 2qzq UQP you can put a small keychain biner on one of the center cinch points - then at night connect the two cinch points together to snug it up. This keeps the breeze off the top as well - almost as good as a sock. Plus you can add a very light fleece throw or small CCF pad in the UQP for a bit of insulation.
Do you have a picture or something of this? I can't seem to get into my mind what you are doing and I do have a 2qzq UQP.

    Thanks

I have an under quilt protector but only use it during the winter. For summer I have using a 40d Warbonnet Yeti and have been very comfortable with it. Not to hot and not cool though right now the temps are steaming in the mid Atlantic.

I have used mine in the Summer and am planning on taking it on my next trip in the middle of July. As Tall Paul said, it does help negate wind chill. I'm a cold sleeper and was "volunteering" at Scout camp last summer up at Ravens Knob. One of the Scouts didn't have an under quilt and we were in the wind on the side of a hill. I ended up moving him to the end of the shelter that blocked the wind and gave him my quilt. I put on the UQP and was okay. I am a cold sleeper and am on blood thinner. I was fine with the UQP until wee early and I had slip a small pad under me.

I haven't used my 2QZQ by itself in the heat of summer, but I have done well with this https://www.jacksrbetter.com/product...n-kit-applied/
    or the DIY version http://theultimatehang.com/2013/02/0...eather-shield/

Seems to help in the clouds, too.
