If you DO know how to sew, and are not opposed to doing so, you might think about this- http://www.sunnysports.com/Prod/KLTBG35R.html

I've been thinking about getting one of these, sewing a line parallel to the baffles about 48" down, adding channels/ shockcord to the ends and having myself a down 3/4 length UQ. Yeah, it's only 650fp down, but it's ALSO really cheap. Just an idea Anyone see a flaw with this? If not, I just might break down and do it. As well, you MIGHT could even colllect some of the extra down for the portion you cut off and overstuff the baffles?

That coupled with a piece of 1/8 GG pad SHOULD easily get you to your temps ! Good luck!

    Hey cayman1:

Thanks for this link, I'm going to try this as a UQ mod. Looks like a good idea

    excellent

    one last question.
    is this useful?

    "Reusable Space blanket"
Pound for pound warmer than wool, this amazingly tough laminate of fiber scrim and aluminized plastic reflects back up to 80% of body heat. Grommets in all corners. Weight: 12 oz.

    LINK

Should I bother with actually buying this and checking it out or is i not worth it?

The space blanket is a very important part of the Super Shelter system for the Hennessy Hammocks. Placed outside the hammock between the hammock itself and the bottom insulation it serves as a vapor barrier and heat reflector. Not sure how it work all by itself

I've had luck using G.I. poncho liners as UQ but I don't think that you could get down to 30F, I think the low 40Fs would be pushing it. They do stay snugged up to the hammock easier than a heavier sleeping bag though.
