    Backpacking Suggestions near Nashville?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good weekend backpacking trip within reasonable driving distance from Nashville, TN? I’m looking to plan a quick weekend trip (2 nights, 20-30 miles) while my wife visits a friend in town. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How do you define reasonable? There are plenty of state parks close by, but for fun hikes the closest is Fiery Gizzard Gulf or Savage Gulf (about 1.5 hour drive)

Thanks everyone. I see two votes each for Savage Gulf and Big South Fork. If you had to pick between them, which would you choose?

Just depends. Perhaps Savage Gulf because it's a tad closer?

I think Savage Gulf because it is easier to get to - 1.5 - 2 hours vs 3 hours to BSF.
Also, BSF is mostly walking in the woods where Savage Gulf starts you out on top with views. You can make it as hard or easy as you want.
Virgin Falls is another good option that is about 2.5 - 3 hours away.

    Good luck!

Another vote for Savage Gulf or the Fiery Gizzard (voted as one of the top 20 hikes in the US) if you are in good shape otherwise you can die on these hikes especially if the weather stays like it is now, in the mid nineties with no rain.
