Slovakia Stefanik Trail: Spring 100km (62mi.)

Hi Folks!

Long distance hiking is not quite popular over here, as it is abroad in states.
We do have only one popular long distance path, its called SNP (Trail of Slovak Uprising Heroes) name has originated from WWII.
Distance is round 700km (435mi).

62mile part of this "SNP" has special name Štefánik Trail. I joined few friends on this pleasant hike.
We started in our capital city Bratislava and finished on monument Bradlo, build for Štefánik, one of the fighters for our sovereignty, although it all started as federation with Czech because we were small countries to fight for it alone.



Camping spots were not that spacial, pleasant one was at Castle Dobra Voda.

Your photos are luring me to visit the area my grandfather came from - Laksarska Nova Ves. If it is anything like the photos of Slovakia that you post, it would be a great trip!
