10 or 11 ft foot tarp with 10 foot hammock?

Obviously the 11ft would provide more coverage. Question is will it matter if I have 10 ft with doors. Looking at a used 10' dynemma with doors vs a new 11ft with doors. Don't care about the extra 1/2 oz.

Would like to know how folks have done with a 10 foot tarp and a 10 ft hammock. Thanks!

I have a 10' tarp and 10' hammock. Yes it covers but just barely. I went with a 11' for my 10 hammock and 12' for my 11' hammocks. But, I also don't do more than base camp with day hikes so I am not carrying additional weight. For my day hike pack I have a 5x7 just to provide shade or an emergency overnight.

So you would opt for the 11ft then I take it?

It's a personal thing, but it's also not rocket science. You want more room, get a longer tarp.

I have a tarp with doors that is only 10' and I use it with an 11' hammock and it works fine and dandy.

A longer tarp will restrict your potential hang spots.......but not that much. I have a 12 foot tarp with an 11 foot hammock and I absolutely love the extra coverage it provides.
