I am thinking of purchasing a Draumr XL, to add to my other gathered end hammocks. But I am not sure how well it would do here in Ohio in the winter. My concern is with the tarp and the lack of doors.
Are there any folks out there with an Amok that use to when it's about 20-35 degrees?
My Warbonnet Superfly fits it pretty well with a bit of care taken.

My first night in an Amok was about 20-25° and fairly breezy, but not heavy wind. I think the Fjol XL pad is comfort rated to 25° and for me that was about the limit. I think if it was 15° out, with that pad and no other trickery I would have had a pretty cold night.

I've got a synmat 9 in my draumr, and I've used it down to -15ish with no problems
yes the XL pad is needed. I am about 6'6" tall. I have actually been waiting for the XL to come out. and when it did, I had to get over the sticker shock.
Some others have used the exped 9 lw in thier xl with success. I have not. I am also in Ohio and tend to prefer my Warbonnet super fly for less than ideal conditions. Work great with the xl. My plan is to try a piece of reflectics with my fjol pad and see how much that boost the warmth factor. I am headed to the mountains of Colorado in 2 weeks to test my idea. I will let you know how it goes.
fjol is rated to 25 imperial units (R3) so with augmenting base layer, you should be fine
again for the tarp, just talk to Jared at simply light designs
This may be a repeat question, but are there pads that have less insulating factor that can be used in hotter temperatures?
I know there are pads with more to allow for more warmth in cold temps, but not sure about the other.

afaik, the fjol XL is the only pad of it's length (and the entire reason a bigger draumr XL took so long to manufacture)
in the regular size, there's a TON of options, all the way to completely uninsulated
