    Video: Foothills Trail

Four of us hammock forums members met up and hiked the Foothills Trail from beginning to end, and this short video teaser shows a few highlights. Josh Sanders will probably post a much more extensive and in depth video later, but for now this will give you a taste of the trip.

We ran into member Tall Paul on the trail too! He was hiking with the brother of one of my best friends - small world indeed.

Our thanks to those members who contributed to the recent Foothills Trail planning thread. Your help was invaluable. Video link is below:

Outstanding! Love and hate (the stairs) that place. Thanks for sharing your experience via video.

That was one fun video. Nice job capturing the trip. I always have a harder time filming in a group - not sure why - but you did a good job getting everybody.

I watched the video earlier. Great job. I’ve got to get the kids out there. They would really enjoy it. Thanks for sharing your trip.

That was good. Doing the ol' narration style now huh. Worked well.
    The end was funny.
Good to see that trail again. Some parts get stuck in my memory and some are totally forgotten. Trips always pass too quickly.

Partway through I was saying that I wished I had the stairs concession in that place. It'd be worth a fortune.

Thanks, Paul. I tried to be even handed in choosing what went into the video. I find I enjoy my videos more when I'm in them less. Again, it was cool to run into you and Artie out there. I'll figure out how to use the bouncy footage of our meeting somehow in the future.

That trail is a treasure. It could be day hiked, overnight hiked in pieces, lots of options for shorter trips and plenty of established campsites with some infrastructure like benches and tables. Kids would love it, especially all the water to play in.

Thanks, Shug. Just experimenting with different ways to tell a story, hence the voice-over. Your trip with Hickery was definitely part of our research before leaving. And the Shug patch on my pack enhanced my reputation, at least in my eyes.

Great video. Maybe if you get enough views you can upgrade that 480p camera. Lol

LOL! Believe it or not, it's already happened, though not from views (I don't monetize my channel). That was shot with my 4-year old Moto E phone, which immediately died the day after I got back from the trip and has thus been retired and replaced. Sintax and others can carry double digit camera and battery weight. I'm gonna stick to my point and shoots and/or my phone.

As a po' cheap country boy of Scottish ancestry, it hurts me to spend money. Just ask my wife.

    Excellent video!
I really liked the narration. You did a great job on that.
I laughed out loud when you got to the steps.
I'm doing half of it in a few weeks and this really got me excited about our trip.
Looking forward to the video from Josh.
