    Improvised tarp pull-out

Hi, this is my first contribution to this forum

thinking about tarp pull-out, i remember to have some small plastic pulleys.

i had the idea to use them with a ring of bicycle tire, and guess what, it worked

A picture is better than words, especially for a french guy as i am

So, i just use a pulley, a match and a loop with a diamond knot. just wrap the rubber ring around the pulley to keep the fabric in place

it seems to be sturdy enough

    Good idea!

    Good idea!

These would be great for center pullouts, and you could easily move them (unlike sewn in center patches).

I love it- Multi-purposing random items into usefulness! KM
(I've heard you can use bits of bike innertube as fire starters in the wet- have't tried it yet myself...but again- multitasking!)

PS would buttons work also, in place of matches?

    sure it would work.
BTW, i would prefer using a bit of bamboo skewer in place of matches. Really strong and weight nothing

Not sure I understand. Got a picture from the other side? I'm not seeing how these are attaching to the tarp. Sorry.

Think of draping the fabric over your finger, then wrap a rubber band around it - clamping the two together.

Looks pretty good ... little worked about the stick and wear on the sil nylon. Maybe just a good knot to keep it from pulling through the pulley instead of the match stick.

Thanks for posting ... nice idea.

Or drill a second hole in the pulley and tie through the two holes.
