    Hello from west Tennessee

Hello, name is anthony. I just purchased my first hammock a few days ago. I have been camping most of my life. Saw a couple of shug emery’s videos and decided to give it a try. Haven’t slept in it yet, but I’m planning on it soon. I tried backpacking about a month ago, had a horrible experience, carried to much weight, and slept on the hard ground. Decided if I was ever going to do it again, I would lighten my load, and find a better way to sleep, so here I am.

WELCOME! Hammocks are definitely a better way to sleep! there is some great backpacking near you. If you can make it to a group hang, you should. Checking out other people's set ups and listening to what they do gives you great ideas.
Take a look through the trip reports, and also check out some of Syntax77's and Spiguyver's videos- they have some backpacking with hammock stuff.
