    You mean you ripped a gash 1 1/2 feet long in a weight bearing section of the amok and it STILL held you???? Now I'm starting to think about getting one. Even though the OP didn't mean it this way, this is a strong commercial for the Amok, thanks.

    Ha ha. Dude, you have to be joking right? I had to look at Mr 2 Posts again just to check and see the date. I thought maybe I missed this one from April Fool’s!

    Seriously. You make a mistake and do something that results in damage, man up.

    It’s sure not a manufacturer issue. I’ve probably got over 70 nights in my XL and I’ve had it all over the USA and in some “interesting” places. It’s boot leather tough. It sure doesn’t need any more toughness.

    I understand your pain & I’d be crying too, but Amok posted the Draumr’s setup video on youtube :

    Where they fold up the footbox to get in. Thanks for reinforcing why...

    Hmm... seems it always circles back around to RTFM.

    its like anything else I think. any hammock out there, if you hang it wrong, and rub against something sharp, bad things are going to happen

    no amount of hammock armour would make sense

    Yeah, while I certainly feel the OP'S pain, I really do, I can not see it being the fault of the manufacturer in any way.

    With that said, the manufacturer should offer repair services (OP'S expense), maybe they did?. It would be nice to have the repair done right.

    Surely this is a troll post. No one can seriously expect them to replace/ repair your mistake at their cost.

    I convinced a new hanger to buy a Warbonnet, and then borrowed it for my wife to use before he even got to try it out!

    She got in it with running shoes on the first time, and tore a triangular hole in the bug netting. Our fault. Called Brandon at Warbonnet, and he said to send it and he would see what he could do.

    Came back perfectly repaired, shipped back at his cost, znd he even included some new Ranger Bands for a Ridgerunner I had mentioned!

    Needless to say, I now have purchased several more Warbonnet hammocks, UQs, and tarps.

    I used to own custom golf shop. When I first went into business, I had an old timer give me the best piece of advice I ever got;

    So now Amok Draumr has a reputation for not taking back perfectly good products that were damaged by the purchaser, who then expects it to be replaced at no cost?

    I could live with that reputation.

    I'm not a 90° hammock user but if I were this would not affect my purchasing decision one single teensy weensy iotaspeck.
