    Ridgerunner in the Everglades

Just got back from a 138 mile solo 3 day fishin/campin trip through the Everglades national park. Stayed on a chickee platform, which was really nice. Compared to beach and ground sites in the park. No sand and less bugs. The ridgerunner did a fine job of keepin the endless bugs off while I was zipped in. I will say, though I like the way the klymit luxe pad feels in this particular bridge hammock, I don’t like the sticky feeling I get from a pad. And as it warms it’s getting worse. Gonna go back to an UQ with no pad. That combo seems to always be the best compromise for me no matter what hammock I’m in. Anyways, it was quite the adventure and caught some biggins. Which were quite tasty.

I have saved a lot of money hanging on my Super, especially at Gheenoe rallies. Enough to pay for a complete tarp and hammock setup each time. Use a seat post base under the bow nose using one Cajun anchor there and one at the back seat base. Use a Superfly tarp tied out with Gatorade bottles. Even stay on the boat at campgrounds on the way to Florida. At Bahia Honda you can stay on the water with shore power when all the campsites are booked.

I’ve thought about trying that somehow. I’d have to take the grab rail off to do it. Here’s something I came up with for no tree camps. Got any pics?

    Nice trip Saltfly.
Wish we had the snook population here.
Poling through the marsh provides us with plenty of tailing redfish as targets, but sight fishing for cobia and tripletail is my favorite.
Running rips checking for cobia, or checking anything floating, for a tripletail, is a fine way to spend time on the water.
    All good eats as well.
A few over 50 years of fly fishing and tying here. Bamboo to fiberglass to carbon. Love it equally as much as your smiles reflect your opinion of the fly.
    Thanks for sharing your journey.

I know it's not the lightest gear, and it's a lot of stuff, but I use a canoe, so it's a lot like car camping, but without the other cars.
