    Hammock Forums Ground Stands

This is a Ground Hammock stand that I total redid and put my own twists on.
There has been no name to these stands. With that said I am going to name them “Ground Stands” (patent pending).
I designed these to fit any hammock on the market at this time.
The hammock spread that this stand will hold is 13' 1/2" feet.
The total width of the stand is about 15 feet overall.
The height of the stand is about 5' 1/4".
The Ground stands are designed to be small enough to be carried disassembled in any vehicle.
The four legs have rubber feet on them so that they can be setup indoors without scratching floors.
They are perfect for the car camper, setting in the yard, in the house or anyplace there are no trees.
There are seven 5' 1/4" pieces of pipe and four attachment pieces.
I have not done a weight limit test on them yet. However the two eyebolts are rated at 200 lbs each, which gives the limit of at least 400 lbs.
The total weight of the stand is 30 lbs. I have made 10 of these stands so far. They will be displaying 10 different hammock vendor stands at The Cast Iron Hang II on the weekend of 26 thru 28 April. If anyone is interested, I would be willing to sell a few on the last day of the hang for the entry price of $160.00 each.

I have included a few photos of the stands with the Dream Hammock Sparrow and the Warbonnet Ridgerunner.

I am definitely interested. Can you ship them and if so, at what cost?

It looks like there's quite a few feet of unused length in both pictures. Is that Sparrow 10'?

If I had to guess (and I do, so I am) I would say the extra length allows for flexibility in the hammock type being used and also offers the ability for the tarp to not rub on hardware and be damaged, as the eye bolts for the ridgeline of the tarp are far enough apart to not be under it.

How do you decide what length middle pole and legs to use for your stand?

It sounds like some folks like different lengths, but would be the range you would want to cover?
