Anyone have any experience or opinions on these tarps. How well it does in wind and rain. It's a lightweight tarp.

Are you referring to this one?
Hex on one side and diamond on the other is rather unusual and assumes that you know from which direction the rain/wind will come and that it will remain so... but what happens when it shifts?
IMO better to go with a hex (on both sides) and give yourself a bit more flexibility. In the milder seasons, a simple hex in porch mode (using sticks or trekking poles) is hard to beat.

so people don't use asym tarps anymore? i thought this one is an in between hex and asym to cut weight.
To me it looks like a diamond and not an asym. An asym would not be ambidextrous with this design (at least not without flipping the tarp over) so this makes sense.
In the ad copy, S2S addresses my point about rain/wind shift: "Two tie-out points on the opposite side can be pegged close to the ground for protection against prevailing wind and rain"
Maybe the wind is very consistently from one direction where you camp. But just a few nights ago I was getting hammered with rain/wind from the east and then the west when a storm came through my area (southern NY) so that design would not have worked for me, to put it mildly.
An asym tarp which I have used that worked very well in moderate wind and rain is Kitsapcowboy's Glasgow K.I.S.S. but those are very hard to come by. However, very similar in size (and featuring the critical offset guyout point) is Dutchware's Wide Asym. 10.5 oz and $90 is hard to beat.
A symmetrical hex option is the Enlightened Equipment Paladin, 8.5 oz and $180.
And then there's alway$ DCF.

No experience with it, but I saw it on REI recently and noticed it. Still there for $90, weighs 11.6oz which includes the guylines which are attached to line locs which are attached to the tarp where this is a grommet-like hole at each guy out for accommodating the tips of poles. This falls inbetween a diamond/asym and regular hex is both coverage and price, but without having to spend more $$ on lines and/or dutchware, so a decent value. However, while its plenty long, its not real wide. If you stake the one side to the ground as suggested, you'd have to hang your hammock low, and for an 11' hammock using a cooler season UQ, perhaps too low.
If you're using site selection to keep yourself out of windblown rain, or you're using an UQP or summer sock, this seems like a real good summer to 3s tarp. But only at the sale price, not retail or even 20% off retail. It would be a slam dunk if it qualified for 20% off the sale price.

This tarp has come up in discussion in the past. If I remember correctly, the best of it was along the lines of a DIY of this tarp with some mods. I'm sure it would come up in a search of the forum. It's not the worst idea, the design.
EDIT: I guess the discussion wasn't as in depth as I thought. Thread I was thinking of is here https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ht=summit+tarp but led to the DIY thread here https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...-Pentagon-tarp

Looking for a lightweight option for nice weather. I have a diy tarp with doors for rain, wind and snow. I have points that I need to use at Cabelas and like the weight. Thanks for all the input.
OK, if wind and rain aren't concerns there's also the SLD's Simplicity asym for $60. I've used this a few times on short trips when the forecast was for possibility of a brief shower or 2 overnight. One night it actually did just that and it worked fine.
