Looks like my plans changed last minute. I'm in the middle of moving and scheduling now won't let me make the trip. On the plus side, my new place adjoins Lackawanna State Park in PA and I can hang in my new wooded campsite just outside the park boundary.
So as to not miss the Adirondacks all this year, I'm planning to make a late November trip to Boreas Ponds. Probably the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Wife and I got up there finally. I didn't hike in because she doesn't hike and there was someone hanging out at the end of neccessary dam rd. I got a panoramic of the pond. The bridge leads up to lyon lake. It's all wilderness forest up there and I think woulld be an easy hike in, to a wilderness overnight or two. A little video of neccessary dam road. I'm leaving a copy of google earths img of where I am. Totally different. They must have taken the photo during a very dry year. The water under the bridge was 3-4' deep.
My next trip up will be alone for a long exploration hike. I'll get coordinates and mapping info for a spring hang.
