Treem I would be happy to share,

So far I love my hammock, the production carry bag is much better being only a couple inches longer.
Let’s the hammock fit easier. I haven’t tried using my sleeping pad with it yet due to the weather in my area 90+F still in Oct (Where is fall already)

I am not a fan of the tree straps they are heavy but work great, those will be my first modification as well as trying to use my bug net from my gathered end hammock, or making one to work with the bridge style.

The stability is amazing I toss around a lot at night and this is kind of like sleeping in a twin bed (to me anyway).

We backpack a bit with my sons Boy Scout troop and neither of us find the extra weight to be a burden but once winter sets in we will be working to see where/how we can save some ounces. I haven’t tried the hiking pole as the spreader bar yet because we haven't used these on a hike yet only day hikes in our pack for weight. (When we day hike we take full packs to keep us ready for actual overnight trips).

So I hope some of this feedback helps someone that’s thinking about this hammock. My vote is buy it I don’t regret it, My son and I both have one and its by far our favorite hammock. (We have 3 styles of hammocks and have used all of them)

Have included I picture so you can see the sag to try and answer the stomach question.

    Saving 208g / 7.3oz....just over half.
I recevied my treem hammock. Premium quality.

Like others I now search to reduce the weight.

Did you find some ultralight rings or caribiners to replace those on the hammock ?

I experimented with carabiner's, yachting thimbles & dog bones, truckie's hitch...& returned to SMC's descenders rings for ease of use.

If you like the original tensioning setup, you can have the lighter rings in the same configuration as treem had them, one on the suspension & one on the tree hugger(loop on both ends, just add a ring to one of the loops).

I used 12ft (3.6m)straps for flexibility in the field, but you could get away with a shorter length to save a little bit more weight.

Could be another option to replace the rings on the hammock side ?

I wonder if a simple ring made with rope could be a solution to reduce the weight and also to protect the suspension part on the hammock side from the abrasion of the rope I use to tie the hammock to the tree.

It's a tension hammock, the 2 smooth rings allow the rope or webbing to slip & tighten easily.
This hammock needs to be tight to hold it's flat shape.
The way treem arranged the rings gives you mechanical leverage.

Not sure a soft/ rope shackle will help with that. But, try it to satisfy your curiosity.

    Thanks.

Hard to try. I live in Paris dowtown, it's not allowed to hang hammock in the public garden

    One question more.

Do you think that Spider Web 1.5 could be a good option for straps ?
