My Wife and I are moving down from NJ to North Knoxville in May I should be all settled in by June and would like to go to this . About how far is it from Knoxville?

Aside from donations for the camping costs I will be posting later what we may need based what everyone puts on the spreadsheet.
So far at the farm they have gotten in some extra 6X6 Posts in a couple sites to create more hanging spots this past week!
And they are hard at work chipping brush for the sites and sprucing up the place for the campground opening in May.
I spent most of the day up there Tuesday and it felt soooooo good!

Had something come up and can't make it this year. Always look forward to this hang and hope to make it 2020. 'Cakes does a great job organizing this and making it such a great hang!

I'm planning on heading that way a few days early and camping at Carver's Gap. Are there any decent free camping sites closer than Carver's Gap?(26 miles out) Thanks in advance!

I remember a Forest Service primitive campground that I stayed at somewhere off the mountain and somewhat back toward the direction of the hang. I came down the mountain from Carver's Gap and turned left off onto a county road before I got to Roan Mtn State Park as best I remember. Check their National Forest map. There was a set of rest rooms at that time (2002).
