I live in North eastern United States, and have done a number of two to three day backpacking trips. This year I would like to do a longer trip, around 5 to 8 days. Any recommendations on where to go? I am willing to travel to anywhere in eastern United States, but unfortunately western United States is not an option this year.

Check out the Foothills trail in SC. Lots of videos from HF members on it. Also, check out the Red River Gorge in KY and Linville Gorge in NC. Sipsey Wilderness in AL or do a section hike on the AT.
Depending on how fast you hike, the 100 mile wilderness section of the AT in Maine which you can get a shuttle. They're located in Monson, ME. There are also shorter sections of the AT in ME but not sure of any shuttles.
