    Hammock Ridgeline Fan

So Im preparing for 80º Alabama nights. A little air movement helps. I have tried many different fans but so far this is the best solution I've come up with. Its a USB fan that is meant for use with laptops. It pulls almost no power so that helps a ton. I tested it with a 6700mah power bank and it ran for 19.5 hours. The power bank in the picture is a 20,000mah. All I did was make shock cord loops with mitten hooks attached to hang the power bank from the ridgeline. I also have a ridgeline in my tent so this system works whether I tent camp or hammock camp. At this point, I couldn't be more happy with it. The flex neck on the fan allows me to position it perfectly.

That is a great idea. Thank you for sharing this, I may try this also. This setup would also help in a winter sock to direct condensation from your breath to the mesh.

I've done the same thing but just put the battery in my ridgeline organizer and angle the fan to point at my face. It's a great thing on hot, humid nights and can keep bugs off your face if they happen to make it into your bug net.

    Hammock Ridgeline Fan

Already tried that one. Didn’t like the hard blades. Mutch better alternative imho is the goal zero fan:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EKD33C4/

It has soft blades and is much lighter weight. And it has an on/off button.

Let me know how the comparison goes. I bought & have used the fan you have:
Advantages: Bendy neck (can aim it well). Price.
Disadvantages: No power switch. Hard blades
(FYI I kept the plastic packaging & cardboard back to "protect" it. Seems sturdy enough not to need it though.)

Also thanks for showing how you hook up your battery to your ridgeline. I've tried rubber bands but it didn't work out well. Something that big & bulky like a big 20,000mah battery is nice to keep as close to the ridgeline as possible.

Another place it comes in handy: sweltering summer swim meets
