Lightbulb "Hot Pocket" Insulated & heated stuff sack for TQ, UQ, Sleeping Bags by SMR

I haven't seen anyone on here discuss the new kickstarter campaign by SMR for an insulated & heated stuff sack. Looks very innovative to me. At only 8.5oz for a large I think it could be a game changer. What are your thoughts?

A heated stuff sack...what would the purpose be? I'm not finding this on kickstarter.

If the purpose is to preheat your quilts, they would cool down by the time they loft up.

I did come across this while searching

    Oh I found it. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...it/description

6000mAh, very weak. Call it 5000mAh at best after some wear and effects from cold weather. I don't know. Easier than boiling water, but I really love the simplicity of that method.

Yea I agree, Neat concept. But, numerous concerns will cause me to step away. $100 for a 6000mah battery pack. A quick Amazon search brings up numerous options for around $15. And to add on a stuff sack with thermal heated wires.
    A. Sounds Sketchy
    B. Dangerous
    C. Unneeded weight.

A bit of research the SMR team stated that the unit would shut off every 15 minutes. So I wouldn't be able to leave it unattended if I wanted to heat my quilts up for any extended period of time. Not to mention an additional potential failure point.

SMR does have a great track record with their Kickstarter plans. They always come though with sending the products. My gripe is that they're onto the next KS before the current one completes.

I too thought that the $69 For an extra battery pack is ridiculous. I don't know if that's because it is USB C?

I think the main thing that would make it useful to me is to cover my feet to get them up to a good temp and let my quilts keep them warm from there. When I get in the hammock with cold feet, they tend to stay cold

Maybe former HF poster Rocketsredglare is part of this kickstarter project after getting our feedback on his ideas of keeping warm? I miss his out of the box thinking sometimes.

Looks like they've blown away their goal by 5x. Quoting PT Barnum: "There's a sucker born every minute".....

I’d rather just carry more down and a reliable water bottle.

I usually just toss a hot hands in about 30 minutes before I crash. Also while out at SHOT Show Zippo has a new hand warmer coming out in late summer that will accomplish the same thing and be about $50 from what they said
