+1 on the New Posts function. Other than the rare occasions when I post a trip report, I'm skimming titles to see what grabs my attention, like this one did.

I always wondered. When I close my browser does it still say I'm online...is there some lag time of a few minutes. Or does it always say I'm online since my username/password is always saved (I haven't "logged in" for years)?

Regarding threads, I love the donating member area. I wish it was open to everyone for free to get more activity. I can talk all day about food, water filtration, gear, OT, etc.

Same here regarding the new posts. When I first joined, I spent a lot of time just researching all over the forums, though.

I usually just check the new posts unless I'm searching for something specific. I'm always logged on from my cell so I guess it always looks like I'm here.

You forgot to include future weather forecasts.

A weather subforum! I think it would be 100 threads of me complaining to myself.

I purposely did not renew as a donating member. Donating Member area became a bit too addictive and I was spending WAY too much time online. I too could talk all day about camping gear, camp recipes, backpacking, paddling... OK, I should stop for a while....

I live mostly on the New Posts section, but will frequent Trip Reports section. I don’t get much time out in the woods, so I use trip reports as a way to escape.

Occasionally, I check out the for sale area, and when I remember, I’ll visit free gear. If I’m looking for specific info on something, I’ll search.
If you don't know where you are going, you'll end up someplace else.
