What is it about them that you can't stand? The reason I'm still using the stuffed clothes route is I haven't been able to decide to go stuffed or inflatable

    Pillow recommendation ?

I use a small memory foam neck pillow that I found at Target in the automotive accessories aisle. don't really need it all the time as the sidewall supports my head just fine, but due to some extensive neck injuries when I was younger it helps when I'm having pain flare-ups or stiffness. definitely not as light as a down pillow, but we each have our own luxury vices.

    Pillow recommendation ?

I use the NEMO Fillo Backpacking pillow. I've been using it for four years. I use it for a couch pillow so it is used alot. It's pricey but I would not hesitate to get another if I had to. Good luck with your search.

Well, it may be that the ones I’ve tried were too cheap, but most inflatables tend to be larger and firmer (even only partially inflated) than I like in a hammock. Now on a mat/pad/bed...that’s where an inflatable is nicer. But in a hammock I want a small, soft, squishy pillow for my neck.

If you want to try a well received inflatable, Sea to Summit has one, but it’s pricey. Since I prefer the feel of my SLD, I figure I’m saving money.

Also, if you like the stuffed clothes option, I think maybe you *have* decided that stuffed is for you Try the SLD (it’s a good price). If you don’t like it you can always try the S2S inflatable.

Good point. I'll check the simply light one out, hadn't looked at that one before.

Zpacks Fleece Pillow Dry bag is what I use when its not lodged behind my back.
Multi-purpose item that i use for my down items.

    • Mont-bell vest
    • JRB Sleeves
    • JRB Hoody

The sleeves are usually my pillow filler.

I've had one of the thermarest compressible pillow for years. It's full of memory foam "chunks" and washing it now and then fluffs it back up.

We bought a pair of "My Pillows" for the bed at home. They came with a pair of travel pillows almost the same size/shape as my old thermarest. That's my new favorite.

Ah! I've been experimenting with different options for how to eliminate pain at the back of my head resulting from hammock fabric stretched tight.

Your comment jogged my memory - I have one a pillow like that somewhere in my basement and I haven't used it for years because it wasn't substantial enough for me when sleeping on the ground. It should be perfect in my hammock!

Now...where in my basement is it? Uh oh.
