Just changed booking to 15 - 21st ..... they wouldn't/couldn't allow the 14th, have you special "pull" KWK?

WE are stopping at TT both ways, assuming the portage to Mac will about do us in .... TT is fully booked for the long weekend, still room on Mac though

That's odd, especially since the delay notice states a new opening date of the 14th. Seems new bookings are handled differently than rescheduled ones. With the weather expected there today I'll be surprised if the ice can hold on through the weekend.

Just for my own piece of mind, and a safety list, can everyone coming post their date/lake plans?

eg.

Chard

Thurs Night/Chicamoula
Fri Night/Chicamoula
Sat Night/Chicamoula
Sun Night/Chicamoula (Unlikely)

This way we'll know when to go into panic mode or not.

Called by the Park a few minutes ago & told I had to change my entry date from Tuesday to Wednesday (even though im convinced they'll be ice-free by tomorrow). So much for "pull", eh Cruiser51? Oh well, no point fighting it.

So now:
Wed - Sunday nights: Ćhicamoula
Mon: Thomson

Bright side - no fighting long weekend traffic!
Dark side - maybe a few bugs?

If anyone still wants to go this weekend... I've got a car camping spot on Rock Lake. We're going to try our luck fishing there - might portage into Pen as well for a day paddle.

I would have liked to go in Tuesday for sure KWK, when I did the reservations this morning ... I was told TT was full for Sunday (for a Monday out) ... so we just extended the Mac stay a night. Also, I heard there was a new bug ban in effect till next Wednesday at least.

Our group plans are:
Wed - TT
Thur - Mac
Fri - Mac
Sat - Mac
Sun - Mac
Mon - TT
Tues - Out

Alas...

Better to err on the side of caution and give the Park a few extra days to clear out the ice than have to chip our way through pack-ice with the back of an axe. Trust me, I know of what I speak....

But still. Groan.......

At least the black flies have a little extra time to hatch!
