Hello folks, lets see where to begin. Last weekend went hiking/camping NY Catskills mountain area for pre St. Paddy's celebration. 3 ground dwellers (me being one of them) and 3 hangers. We got blasted by wind and a few inches of snow. I didn't use bug net to save weight (haha, 45lb pack, but I left my 1lb bug net home) Spindrift in my face to the right, spindrift in my face to the left! Ahhhh!
Hangers were comfy and dry.
So, 5 days later I ordered a Warbonnet Ridgerunner.
I'm a belly sleeper and always stayed away from hammocks until I did more research. I actually was turning blue like that girl in Willie Wonka! Read and watched sector 7 Shug videos!
Looking forward to the new experience. Funny, every few years I'm trying new ideas.
Picked up a canvas tent and wood burning stove a few years back, before that lightweight pack and tent, before that big family tent. So happy that I've stayed involved with tripping as my kids have become adults. I actually bought my daughter an ENO and she hangs in Denver with friends.
This summer when I meet up with her I will bring my gear there and go to the Rockies with her. Have a feeling that my gear will end up staying with her when I leave. "Aw come on dad, you can get another one, please!" I bought her an EE Revelation this year for birhday.
Thanks for all of your threads, I learned a lot. Health and happiness to all.
