How to mention a member?

I've dutifully searched faqs, done a search and attempted website specific google search (forgot how though!)..
I would like to know how to "mention" other members?

On some forum boards, you use the "@" sign and as you type the name, the member autofills...

How might I mention someone on a post please?

Yea.............this isn't that kind of platform. These older style of web forums use a different kind of architecture and scripting. They aren't built for "tagging" unless I've missed something in my years of coding.

well it is but places like whiteblaze / hammock forums etc are using it more in it's initial release state than the current commercial version. I assume because its free and more self manageable.
