February sets record cold and snow for Montana

Grumble. I knew it wasn't my imagination. Looks like that included the Bitterroot on the map. Just a heads up, i.e. not a good idea to think aboot moving here, even if you are Canadian.

We just set record warmth for February in the south east. The weather is getting very odd over the last few years.

Canada wasn't any better this winter- We're thinking of building 'The Wall' (Game of Thrones reference)...

Please do. I'm thinking at least 2 miles high.

I read that LA failed to break 70F in Feb for the 1st time since record keeping began.
Down here in MS, it has not been a particularly cold winter, just dark and rainy. Rain, rain, rain. Last year and very rainy so far this year. Finally this week we have bright blue skies. Yay!

Luckily February made up for a dry and warm January in Montana.

Looks like March is on its way to match Feb.

Does anyone else remember the lack of sunspots harbingers a colder winter from last fall?

There appears to be NO sunspots.

I do! I thought we might have a hard winter. I guess we did, but not as expected. No extreme cold(by our southern standards) or snow. But, lot's of grey, wet, cold days. Lot's of sunless days as opposed to our frequent clear blue sky days, even blue sky days that might have been quite cold. But who knows, maybe the average temps were lower than normal? I don't know. but we have a week of near freezing lows, with highs of about 69, with clear blue skies and NO rain. Happy days!
