I haven't tried those. I use the WM brand and they've proven tough enough.

Those work fine, still on our first box from a few years ago.
First time I tried Tyvek under the hammock, and I noticed that stuff is *loud* -- does it get softer and quieter over time?
It took me several times through the wash to "soften" my industrial Tyvek sheets. Then I found out you can buy it blended to make clothing - like Tyvek suits for those working with fiberglass. The clothing style is reportedly much softer/quieter.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
You can also get "kite" tyvek 1443R that is lighter in weight, more supple and less 'rustly.'

TYVEK really doesn't require a washing machine to soften it. 10-15 minutes of manually squshing into a balls, twisting ect and your Tyvek will be suitably softened without wasting water or electricity. Think of it as living of the grid or being a tree hugger if even for just 10 minutes.
