it says straight out it's intended for the clewed style brazilian/mayan hammocks

I really like the idea of this. My vivere stand is rock solid, and fits really well where it is, but there are times where I wish I could make it that 10 or 12 inches longer for a better over night sleep

granted I could just replaced the center tube with a longer one, but I really like the adjustability of this stand

Already have a 'Meck stand...I'll stick with that. I know it works.

It works well with them, but the longer ones are pretty low to the ground, especially since the cotton ones will sag a little through the night. My nylon hammocks all work okay with it. The only thing I didn't really like about it was the end connections. They are made specifically for the hand-wrapped ends of a SA hammock. You'll need to come up with some kind of different connection for your average nylon one with a continuous loop. Something like an Atlas strap will work. I also don't like having a single bar running under the hammock. If anything gives way in the middle of the night, your spine will land directly on a nasty bar. Long shot, but if you've got any kind of back issues, it's worth being cautious.

One more thing, the length of the arms is probably their actual length, not the distance up from the ground. It is easy enough to add an extension if you really need to and have a little DIY skill.
