That's the length before hemming and whipping. The finished length from whipping cord to whipping cord is about 113" and 126".

The cost vs weight saved vs comfort loss probably isnt worth the pain.

Does anyone use a 10ft hammock and 10ft tarp and have issues?

Could I use a 9ft hammock and not notice a difference there either? With an adjustable ridgeline, length of hammock would make an even less difference correct?

Smaller hammock means smaller tarp; less overall weight and space inside pack.
Laying in a Hammock and spending a night in one is also a very distinguishing point too. Go Sleep in a 9 foot Hammock and then compare it to an 11 footer. Also, i didn't see any mention about a ridgeline. You can get a good angle without one but it is a little bit more difficult. I'm 6'5" and have tried from a 9 foot to a 11 foot. So I'm not too sure how you were lying in the 9 foot but that doesn't sound comfortable.
