Thinking of switching from whoopies to buckles. It just seems easier with less parts and I’m not a fan of the MSH. I haven used them though.
What do you prefer and why?

I'm a long time whoopie-sling with Dutch Whoopie Hooks user - my favorite suspension. However, I do have a Dutch Chameleon with Beetle Buckle suspension. I'm still getting used to that. Main thing is that it can span shorter distances easier than whoopies, but I still haven't quite got the hang of adjusting them. Whoopies are so much easier to adjust, in my opinion.

I feel like the simplicity of a long strap that goes around the tree to my loop would be easier than a tree strap>Toggle>whoopie>dutch biner>loop.
maybe I’m just overthinking it. I’m sure there are pros and cons just like everything else.
Strap & buckle is about the easiest suspension there is. If you want easy, that's it. Stop looking.
Anything else is weight savings, cost saving, or somebody's strong opinion.
Dutch’s light weight 2.0 straps and Knots just for fun. Buckles may be faster but knots are loads of fun.
Always carry a knife...you never know when a knot may turn on you...
being a Hefty Hanger, I cant use the light weight straps. Beetles and what not don't move so well on regular webbing. Not good at all on 3000lb webbing. UCR's are so much easier to adjust than whoopies. plus the amsteel takes up less space than webbing. To each their own. Seeing as I exceed the tolerances of most hardware, im pretty much hardware free these days. Evo loops rock!!!
My worst night in a hammock was still better than my best night in a tent!!!!
If you don't like the MSH then one option is to switch to a strap with a loop on each end and use a carabiner to connect to the whoopie.

I kind of like that idea. That’s how you guys have them in your site.
I could just larkshead the whoopie through the channel and eliminate the CL and Dutch biner.
Dynaglide Whoopie to a Marlin spike on short Kelvar straps. Connected to small continuous loop of Dynaglide on the hammock with a Dutch whoopie hook.
The whoopie hook to make it removable so wet suspension doesn't get packed with dry hammocks and CL are there to facilitate a very short hang when there's not enough room for the whoopie.
Reason is it is lightweight, very low bulk, and infinitely adjustable. All important as I backpack, not car camp. If I only car camped, I would probably go with heavy duty straps and buckles, why not.
