The Mountain Goat mesh skins are very easy to slide on and off of my sil poly tarps. I have the single piece MG skins, and I greatly prefer them to the HH double skins. The doubles tend to slide apart when stuffing them into a pack or tarp stuff sack, diminishing the benefit of easier set up and take down. The single mesh skin from MG is a breeze to slide on, slide off, and put away, and it weighs less and is less bulky.

I’ll throw in another idea. A Monolite sleeve!

Pat, you probably remember the see through hammock that Clark brought to the last hang, right? That’s Monolite. Seems like a great application for it. In fact, I have one being made by SimplyLightDesigns at the moment. I’d recommend going with the Dark Olive color. Not only because I seem to recall you having a olive tarp, but also because I ordered some samples of all three colors from RSBTR and think the Olive looks better than the black because it’s actually a bit more transparent. It will hold up a much longer than the mesh, but it’s still very breathable and light.

I think the best combination is to use a breathable fabric and stick it in the bottom of your outside stretch pocket if you have one of those ULA style packs. It probably won’t dry completely, but even if just a bit, it is effectively lightening your load. This allows you to leave the stuff sack at home and have the tarp easily accessible.
