Heck yes. I plan on making a trip up there myself soon. Only 3 hr ride. No excuses I have been there sooner.
Welcome from NJ. Good luck with your first hammock purchase!
I have a foam pad for a basic bottom insulation and a 20° bag for top. Have another old 0° bag that Iay try to convert into an underquilt later on.CBS Cold Butt Syndrome—insulation is required both top and bottom. If you start with a pad for bottom insulation—get a pad WIDE enough to keep your shoulders warm and to keep you from sliding off while asleep.
If you have enough money get underquilt and topquilt for maximum comfort and warmth. Possibly a 20 degree set—top and bottom quilts.
If you don’t have enough money at beginning—do asbestos you can—and no one will fault you for getting out in piney woods in your hammock!
Welcome Amaas! I am in NW Oh as well. I’d be happy to get get together sometime to show you a few of my rigs. I have pretty much all styles of bugnet, and they all work fine. Integrated, zip off, fronkey style, etc.
Are you anywhere near Oak Openings Metropark? If so, there a couple of nice options there for an overnighter.
