    Quilt storage?

How do you store your quilt when not in use? I've been hanging mine in a closet but was wondering if they should be folded and stored in large plastic bins.

There are a number of ways they can be stored. I prefer using a king size cotton pillow case and laying them on the top shelf of my gear closet.

I use the cotton bags Hammock Gear provides.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Box or bag uncompressed. Your choice. Uncompressed.

Large cotton bags for me. King size pillow cases work well for all but the bulkiest quilts.

    Quilt storage?

Large plastic bins here. Not folded though - laid however it fits. One ENO 30deg synthetic, one HG 20deg UQ, and one JRB 20deg TQ and there is still space left over (50 gallon tote). I use another smaller container for CDT TQs and UQs.

Some are folded up on the top of a shelf in the close, some are in breathable storage bags, some are unzipped and on the guest bed laid flat. I wouldn't stress too much as long as it's not stored compressed or in something that can't breath.

I would suggest whatever method you do decide to use: lay it out for a few days after a trip so it can dry out fully.

Yep, large cotton bags and stored on an out-of-the-way shelf where they won't be compressed.
