Large cotton "laundry bags" I found on Amazon. They are very similar to the ones HG offers. I get the two pack for $7.50. Perfect.

It's generally recommended to store them in a dry place in a breathable container. If they are properly aired and dried out, then it seems reasonable that an airtight plastic container would be fine. The issue is that it might be difficult to know if they are "properly" dried out.
The Cure for the unknown is Desiccate Packets in the container with the quilt. You can get large ones and ones intended to dry small spaces.
Totes are how we recommend storing any and all lofting gear.

Stacked plastic bins with unmodified lids. Zero concerns about breathability / dampness because I let them air out for about 3 days before returning them to their bins. Sometimes if they're particularly damp, I'll tumble dry them without heat before letting them continue to air out for 2-3 days.
I like these 106 qt. Sterilite bins with lid latches, so the cats won't get inside. :3

+1 for the big Sterilite bins. I dry all gear hanging in the basement with the dehumidifier running before I store it.
